Westminster Pediatric Dermatology Services

Dr. Heidi specializes in Pediatric Dermatology.

Dr. Heidi believes that it is very important that babies’ birthmarks and moles get evaluated by a dermatologist, that children’s eczema gets treated as skin disease and not as an “allergy”, and that teenagers’ acne gets medically managed so that they are not left with scars on their beautiful faces or souls!

Below are some of the common childhood skin conditions.

Westminster

Westminster is a city located in the western part of Orange County, California. Originally established in the late 1800s by Reverend Lemuel Webber as a Presbyterian temperance colony, it later became an incorporated city in the mid-20th century.

The city shares its borders with Seal Beach to the west, Garden Grove to the north and east, and both Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley to the south. Santa Ana, the county’s administrative center, lies just to the east.

Westminster is widely recognized for having one of the most prominent Vietnamese communities in the United States. A large number of Vietnamese Americans settled in an area known as Little Saigon, which has become a cultural and commercial hub for the community and earned the city a reputation as the heart of the Vietnamese diaspora.

A pivotal moment in the city’s history was the landmark legal case Mendez v. Westminster. In this case, a Latino father challenged the segregation of his daughter in a separate school for Mexican children. The successful outcome played a key role in ending school segregation in California. Years later, Sylvia Mendez, the child at the center of the case, received national recognition for her role in civil rights history.

In recognition of its community spirit and civic engagement, Westminster received the All-America City Award in the 1990s.
